Services planned for Bridgeport man fatally struck on I-84
This week friends and family will gather to say goodbye to a Bridgeport man who was struck and killed by two vehicles in Waterbury early Saturday morning.
State police say Melvin Gordils was hit and killed while walking on the Route 8 ramp to I-84 in Waterbury. The accident still remains under police investigation.
Gordils' family says he was a student at Sacred Heart University studying physical therapy and was set to graduate next year.
A wake will be held for the 26-year-old called 'Machito' at the Luz Paz Funeral home Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral for Gordils is set for Friday morning at St. Mary's Church.
