With Thanksgiving behind us, many started their holiday shopping Friday in hopes of scoring some Black Friday deals.

News 12’s Nina Kapur visited the Connecticut Post Mall to see what kind of deals shoppers found.

Patty Peterson, of Shelton, said she found great deals at FYE and American Eagle, seeing some discounts as high as 40 percent off.

Meanwhile, Kapur reports that multiple studies show the best deals on Black Friday to be in the electronics category.

Peterson told News 12 Connecticut that she didn’t even have to wake up really early to make the deals.

The Connecticut Post Mall is open until 10 p.m.
