Siblings killed in Fairfield car crash
A brother and sister were killed in a car crash in Fairfield Wednesday morning.
Police say 33-year-old Brandon Dupee was driving with his sister, 31-year-old Lindsay Dupee, on I-95 north when they got off at Exit 21 on Mill Plain Road.
The crash occurred around 1:45 a.m.
"We have a witness that said they were traveling at a high rate of speed and went off the exit ramp," says Fairfield Police Lt. Robert Kalamaras. "When they came off the exit ramp, they failed to stop at the Mill Plain Road intersection."
Police say the car then slammed into a tree. Both siblings died at the scene.
Norwalk police confirmed that Brandon Dupee was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana about six hours before the crash. Officials say he bonded out five hours later around 12:30 a.m.
Friends of the siblings have started a GoFundMe account to raise money for funeral expenses and for Lindsay's young daughter.
