Southwestern Connecticut takes rainfall in stride
Some southwestern Connecticut residents awoke Thursday to relatively dry streets after a downpour Wednesday.
A fast-moving creek is virtually all of the evidence left to show that Milford was one of the hard-hit areas.
Department of Public Works crews spent the morning removing debris from sewer drains and removing fallen trees, like the one that toppled onto a car on East Broadway.
Residents kept an eye to the sky Thursday, but say the aftermath could have been a lot worse.
"I looked out, and it did rain, but I have seen worse," says Larry Zaleski.
