(08/11/06) BRIDGEPORT ? Muslims in southwestern Connecticut fear the announcement of a suspected U.K. terror plot will lead to a backlash against their community.
Resident Imran Shariff says Muslim properties were subjected to acts of vandalism after September 11th. He fears the same will happen again after the announcement of a suspected plot in Britain to blow up U.S.-bound commercial aircraft. According to Shariff, police in the area need to be pro-active in their protection of the Muslim community.
Shariff also calls on fellow Muslims and residents to stick together and help each other out during tough times.
