A new art center that opened this year has become a place where local people with special needs can be creative.
The Kennedy Center's Maggie Daly Arts Cooperative opened earlier this year in downtown Bridgeport.
The center offers a number of creative outlets for adults with special needs from singing and dancing to painting and drawing.
Artists like Molly Hauser and dozens of her friends have paintings that hang in Bridgeport City Hall, and in the center's gallery, which is part of the Bridgeport Art Trail.
Those who run the program say it allows these adults to communicate with others in a way that transcends their disabilities.
