The coronavirus pandemic is not stopping a popular race in Monroe that usually attracts hundreds of people.
This year's Sprint for Monroe event will be virtual, so people who are going to take part in the 1K, 5K or 10K can report their times at their leisure between Aug. 23 and 30.
The registration fee this year is $15. This year, a lot of the proceeds will go to help coronavirus relief.
Last year's event raised about $22,000. About 250 people have signed up for far.
