Stamford Fire Department: Multiple vehicles caught fire on Fairfield Avenue

The Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that engulfed several vehicles in a parking lot and storage area near 400 Fairfield Avenue Saturday at 10:25 a.m.

The Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that engulfed several vehicles in a parking lot and storage area near 400 Fairfield Avenue Saturday at 10:25 a.m.

Fire officials say a local towing company was using the area to store vehicles.

They also say that 26 firefighters were dispatched the fight the fire, which was quickly “confined and placed under control.”

A representative from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection also responded to the scene “due to the use of foam for the extinguishment of gasoline.”

No injuries were reported.
