With less than two weeks until Thanksgiving, southwestern Connecticut's largest provider of food to the hungry is hungry for donations.
The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County in Stamford helps more than 50 agencies to serve thousands of meals every month. Organizers at the food bank say they rely on donations to stock the pantry shelves, and currently the shelves are almost bare.
Organizers say they need turkeys, canned vegetables and juices. They add that every donation, no matter how big or small, helps.
