West Hill High School in Stamford has implemented a new lockdown plan developed by a student.
The plan, created by senior Lauren Klym, gives specific steps to take if there's a shooter in the school or on the premises.
Each room within West Hill has a specific plan, information, and a map on the room's safe zone.
Stamford Police Sgt. Joe Kennedy says while police are on site at West Hill every day as a matter of routine, this plan is valuable in its simplicity.
He says in the chaos of a scary situation, the plan will cut through the confusion.
