Inspirica, a Stamford nonprofit, held its Harvest for Hope Thanksgiving Drive and Giveaway today.
Volunteers distributed 800 bags of food and turkeys to local churches and community groups who will get the meals to people in need.
Organizers say they are grateful to everyone who donated food.
"It really takes a village, and our community really came together in order to provide these meals for the families that are in need and those that we care for in our residential facilities," Chief Development Officer Angela Ciminello says.
Bethel A.M.E Church in Stamford will be giving out Inspirica food bags Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis.
