Residents in Stamford will soon have a smoother ride in the downtown area.
Mayor David Martin was at Forest Street and Greyrock Place checking on the progress of the city's latest paving project Wednesday.
Martin says they used special equipment to determine what streets to repair first.
“We've gone down the roads with an engineering truck and we actually had lasers to measure how rough is this road, so we are picking the roads that are in the worst condition and have the most traffic so we get the best cost benefit but we're gonna keep going,” says Martin.
Over the next two and a half years, the city plans to pave 125 streets, including some side streets.
