(06/02/06) STAMFORD ? Stamford police have arrested two individuals in connection with a daylight shooting that took place Tuesday.
A 17-year-old and 21-year-old Rono Baciany have both been charged with criminal attempt at assault and reckless endangerment. Police say two groups of people opened fire on each other at about 5 p.m. on the city?s West Side. According to police, the time of day is particularly disturbing due to the number of children present in the neighborhood.
Residents believe the shooting may be gang related. They fear it could erode a reported truce between the Crips and Bloods gangs. Police say several other arrest warrants have been issued in relation to the shooting.
