Martial arts master and movie star Steven Seagal is shooting his next film here in Stamford, and he?ll share the spotlight with some real crime fighters.
Shooting for the film "Marker" began Tuesday at the Stamford Police Department. Scenes will be shot in the back parking lot, at the pistol range and in a detective squad room. "We'll be shooting a scene in the firing range, and we'll actually be having fights right next to the firing range, and they'll also be in the detective rooms," said Producer Alwin Hight Kushner. "We also have a scene in a jail cell." She tells News 12 Connecticut that the main movie role for the officers is either walking or driving through shot scenes while outside.
Sgt. Joseph Kennedy has already been in one scene, and although he enjoyed his day on the set, his role in the film is a bigger deal for his family.
"They're psyched, you know, and then they heard it was Steven Segal, so they were impressed with that."
It?s not unusual for films to use Stamford for movie making. Eight days of shooting recently wrapped on the upcoming "What Just Happened," starring Robert DeNiro, Bruce Willis and Sean Penn. Two more films are slated to be shot in Stamford this year.
