Residents of one Stamford neighborhood woke up to destroyed lawns covered with the deep tire tracks after a driver used their lawns as racetrack over night. The front lawns of many houses on Barclay Drive in Stamford were ruined. Tire tracks measure six inches deep in some spots. Charles Ambrosecchia says he watched the driver from his window around 11:30 p.m. Friday. He says he saw the driver go from lawn to lawn, tearing up the grass.Joe Gabriele says he called the police. He wants the vandals to pay for the lawns to be fixed. However, Ambrosecchia says it?s not just his damaged lawn that has him worried. Just last week, he says he was driving down this street when drag racers almost hit him head-on. He says something more needs to be done to protect the neighborhood.
