An Italian restaurant in Stamford plans to put its money where its mouth is.
Amore Cucina & Bar will donate all of next Monday's proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Foundation's Race for the Cure.
Staff members will be topping pizza pies, frothing lattes and more to raise money for the cancer nonprofit. About 400 people are expected at the restaurant. Owner Steve Cioffi says it was an easy decision for him and his business partner.
"The cause for breast cancer is something that hits everybody," says Cioffi. "Anybody you ask has a mother, a sister, a grandmother, a friend, somebody's who's been affected by this. So we wanted to help, and we wanted to help with something we feel everybody can relate to."
Amore Cucina hopes others will be inspired to support the cause.
The Race for the Cure in Connecticut is May 9 at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.
Amore Cucina & Bar is located at 921 Hope St.
