A Stamford teenager is in critical condition after being hit by a minivan while skateboarding.
It happened at around 5 p.m. Monday on Willowbrook Avenue near Soundview Avenue.
According to police, the 17-year-old was thrown from his skateboard after being struck by the minivan.
The van then went off the road, hit a stone wall and a tree before stopping in a driveway.
Police say the driver and passenger took off on foot after the accident, but have been arrested.
Police say the driver, Ramon Martinez-Urbina, and the passenger Alejandro Estrada, are facing multiple charges including drunken driving. They're expected to be in court today.
