Federal prosecutors say a Stamford woman will serve a year in jail after stealing the identity of a local dentist.
Officials say Elena Ilisarov defrauded insurance companies and the government by assuming the identity of a dentist who retired from the practice where she worked. She then billed insurance companies for work supposedly done by him.
Prosecutors say the suspect stole more than a million dollars before being caught.
