Connecticut officials say they are launching an opioid treatment program geared toward young people throughout the state.
Gov. Dannel Malloy made the announcement Wednesday.
The program is called the ASSERT Treatment Model.
It provides a combination of intensive and medically assisted treatment for patients who are under 21 for up to one year.
The governor says the opioid crisis has impacted young people as much as adults.
