State lawmakers say they will hold a public hearing this week to discuss the possibility of legalizing medical marijuana.
Those in favor of legalization, say that people like 90-year-old Gloria Blick of Stamford, who suffers from glaucoma, need medical marijuana because it works better than any other treatment.
Dr. Maria DiGiovanni, a medical weight loss doctor who also treats pain patients at Pain Management Associates of Connecticut in Stamford, says if legalized, marijuana will be appropriate to use in some cases under very careful supervision.
The hearing will be held in Hartford this Wednesday.
