Lawmakers in Hartford Tuesday took a step toward to restrict what kinds of products THC shops can sell without a cannabis license.
Legislators in the House voted to restrict the sales of the high potency products delta 8, to cannabis dispensaries.
Delta 8 is extracted mostly from hemp-derived CBD, which is legal to farm in the United States. These products can get users high and are currently legal to sell in gas stations and CBD shops.
"It will definitely impact the business, you know, I have a couple customers that like delta 8. If we can continue to sell it's good for us," said Delowar Choudhury, from Rainbow News and Variety.
Legislators pointed out how easy it is to buy big packages of strong THC gummies and say it illustrates what needs to change.
The bill now heads to the state Senate.
