Police say a state trooper is in serious condition after being hit by a car on I-91 in Hartford last night.
They say the trooper stopped his car around 7:30 p.m. to protect a driver who was trying to remove something that had fallen from his truck onto the highway.
They say both the trooper and the driver were hit by a car.
Police say the other person is in stable condition.
