Borough president, Assemblyman Marcos Crespo call on Bronx community to donate to Ecuadorian earthquake victims
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and Assemblyman Marcos Crespo are joining members of the Ecuadorian community in the Bronx in an effort to raise money for victims of the Ecuadorian earthquake.
They say there are four locations in the Bronx where people can go to drop off items to be donated directly to victims in Ecuador.
The first location is at the Atax on 1442 Williamsbridge Road, the second is at Centro Bronx on 1765 Westchester Ave., the third is on Concilio Iglesia Cristiana on 1996 Clinton Ave. and the fourth is at Radio Tambo Stereo on 815 Gerard Ave.
They say along with money, there is also a need for canned foods, diapers, water, baby food, sports drinks and sleeping bags.
Ecuador's president has raised taxes in an effort to generate funds to help rebuild the country.
