NYPD officer dragged by suspect’s car after attempting to make arrest in the Bronx
Police say they are looking for a man who dragged an NYPD officer with his car after being stopped by the police Tuesday.
It happened around 12 a.m. at 135 Bruckner Blvd.
Police say the 42-year-old female officer was walking out of the 40th Precinct when she witnessed a man urinating outside.
According to police, the officer approached the man, but he ran away and got into a Cadillac CTS. Police say the officer chased the suspect and when she caught up to him, her hand got caught in the window of his car while the suspect began accelerating. They say she was dragged a few feet by the car before her hand became free, and the suspect drove away.
The officer was transported to North Central Bronx Hospital with an arm injury and released.
Police say the car was found abandoned on 5th Avenue and 125th Street in Manhattan a short time later.
Police are still looking for a suspect in his 40s.
