Marijuana dispensary nears opening in the Bronx

A new medical marijuana dispensary is nearing its opening on Hunts Point Avenue in the Bronx.

The high-security PharmaCannis will sell medical marijuana to anyone with a medical marijuana card and a prescription.

Officials gave News 12 a tour of the facility Tuesday. It's the fourth PharmaCannis dispensary in the state, but the only one in New York City.

An in-house pharmacist will give patients a specific type and dosage of marijuana -- New York law permits only the use of tinctures, inhalers or capsules, not marijuana for smoking or eating.

Cancer, HIV, epilepsy and Lou Gehrig's disease are among the conditions now treatable by medical marijuana in the state.

The dispensary opens next month.
