Officials: 3 charged in fatal shooting of Cuomo aide Carey Gabay
Three people were arraigned Wednesday in last year's fatal shooting of Carey Gabay, who was an aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Gabay was caught in the crossfire of a gang shootout near the Ebbets Field Houses during the J'ouvert celebration in September 2015. A bullet struck him in the head.
Micah Alleyne, 24, was arrested last month in connection to the incident. He is believed to have fired the shot that killed Gabay.
Tyshawn Crawford, 21, and Keith Luncheon, 24, were also charged in the shooting. The group has been variously charged in a 16-count indictment with second-degree murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment. All three suspects face 25 years in prison if convicted.
Stanley Elianor, 25, is also facing weapons charges in the case. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Police say they are still seeking other gang members involved in the shooting and plan to increase security measures around the J'ouvert celebration this year.
