Police: Man assaults 2 while trying to rob Fairfield ice cream shop

Police in Fairfield say they're looking for a man who assaulted two employees while trying to rob a Pinkberry ice cream shop on Post Road yesterday morning.

Officials say the man forced his way into the store while assaulting one female employee and demanded that she open the safe. At the same time, another employee came in and startled the intruder.

The man ran off into a dark-colored Nissan and took off, according to police.

Authorities say the two employees were injured in the robbery, but are expected to be OK.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at 203-254-4816.
