Bridgeport police officer buys new bike for teen

A teen from Bridgeport who was mugged a few weeks ago received a gift from a police officer Wednesday.

Police say Detective Michael Fiumidinsi took it upon himself to buy 14-year-old Kyle Marrero a new bike after he learned the teen's mother couldn't afford one.

Marrero's bike was stolen last month after he was attacked by a group of people.

Police say Fiumidinsi couldn't come to the Spoke and Wheel Bicycle Shop Wednesday to greet Marrero because of a family emergency, but say they are proud of what he did.
