Hoyt-Barnum House finds new home on High Ridge Road
A Stamford house that is more than 300 years old has a new place to call home this morning.
It took several hours, and several trips, for the Hoyt-Barnum House to be moved from Bedford Street to The Historical Society on High Ridge Road this weekend.
The house was built back in 1699.
Officials say they can now begin working on the new police headquarters, which will go where the Hoyt Barnum House once stood.
News 12 is told the city wanted to keep the house on the National Registry of Historic Sites rather than get rid of it.
