Republican state Rep. Gail Lavielle ran unopposed and will continue to serve the 143rd District, which includes Norwalk, Westport and Wilton.
Lavielle says she hopes the House can bridge its political divides by focusing on issues rather than personality clashes.
Lavielle says her focus going forward is fixing the state's financial crisis and rebuilding the economy.
