Neighbors of the Glenbrook Metro-North station say horns on late-night trains are waking them up at night.

Federal rules require trains to sound off at a specific volume when they pull out of the station or approach certain intersections.

Residents are asking for a reduction in noise and also for what's called a Quiet Zone. About 80 people have signed a petition asking for Stamford to request a waiver that would give them some peace and quiet.

Getting that waiver would require meeting 29 pages of federal safety guidelines. The city is studying what safety changes would need to be made on the nearby roads and how much they would cost.
