Communities plan cooling centers

Some local communities will have places open for people to beat the heat as temperatures are expected to reach into the 90s today.

Stamford's Government Center will be open as a cooling center from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The city run fire houses will also be open to the public during those hours.

Bridgeport residents are welcome to cool off at the Main Bus Terminal downtown.

In Norwalk, public libraries and the community room at City Hall are open today.
