Rescue divers recount saving Stamford boat crash victims
Days after a boating accident in Stamford harbor left one man dead and four others injured on Sunday, divers who were involved in the rescue recounted what happened.
Keith Morris, 31, a firefighter from New Rochelle, was killed when the boat he was operating crashed into a breakwater, capsizing the boat.
A first team of rescue divers quickly moved in and saved two victims who were clinging to the side of the boat. Divers Bill O'Connell and Joe Maida came in after and were able to rescue the two victims who remained trapped in the boat's cabin, surviving in an air pocket.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
