Police ID body of missing boater in Stamford
Police have identified the body of a man found in the water today after his boat capsized near Stamford last night. Authorities say 31-year-old Keith Morris, a New Rochelle firefighter, was on board the vessel with four other people when it apparently hit a stone barrier and overturned. They say the accident happened shortly before midnight, and that two of the passengers were trapped in an underwater air pocket for 45 minutes. Investigators found Morris' body at around 12:15 this afternoon, not far from where the boat capsized. Police say no one on board was wearing a life jacket, but that they are unsure if that played a role in Morris' death.
