Norwalk Zoning Commission denies mosque permission
The Norwalk Zoning Commission voted Wednesday to deny a mosque and Islamic center permission to build in the city.
The Al Madany Islamic Center had submitted a proposal to begin construction on Fillow Street. Neighbors complained, saying that the streets are not wide enough to accommodate the extra traffic and parking.
A spokesperson for the mosque said that he is disappointed with the board's 4 to 3 vote. News 12 Connecticut is told that they are considering applying again with a modified proposal.
