Man survives 3 hours in the Saugatuck River
Westport police say a man who was pulled from the waters of the Saugatuck River last night after three hours is expected to be OK.
Police say the victim fell in the water at about 7 p.m. and was not rescued until 10 p.m.
Fire officials say he showed early signs of hypothermia, however his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. Police say the man had been drinking and slipped into the river while walking with an unnamed woman. The woman continued to communicate with him and called the police when she lost communication.VIDEO: Man in the water
