Bridgeport leaders tackling urban blight
Officials in Bridgeport today introduced a campaign aimed at fighting blight in their neighborhoods. City leaders say the program intends to clean up 100 properties stricken with graffiti, broken windows and other forms of neglect. They say irresponsible landowners will no longer be able to ignore their homes and will be forced into foreclosure if necessary. Officials say residents can download the B-Connected app on their smart phones, take pictures of blighted properties and send them in.
