Police say an Orange man defended his property yesterday by chasing away two intruders who had broken into his barn. Officials say the incident happened on Derby-Milford Road. The homeowner, Alex Simeone, says he noticed the first suspect when his wheelbarrow had been moved. He says he shouted into the barn, saw someone appear in the window and then chased the man when he fled the scene. When pursuing him in the woods, Simeone says he came across a second man and followed both of them until police arrived. Authorities arrested one of the suspects, Dana Pettaway, but were unable to find the second intruder. Simeone says he's glad to have helped rid his neighborhood of the criminals, but adds that he'll leave the chase to police next time.To watch extended footage from Orange, click on News 12 Extra on Optimum TV channel 612.
