Police say a wrong-way crash killed two people on Route 8 in Shelton.
Police say Fernando Moreno-Rivas, 30, was driving on Route 8 early Thursday when a woman driving the wrong way hit him. Both died in the crash.
Police identified the woman as 29-year-old Kelly Wooten, of Seymour.
Later in the day, loved ones were seen leaving flowers by the side of the road where the crash occurred.
Friends say Moreno-Rivas, of Stratford, was a father and served in the Army for several years. They add that he was passionate about the service, having recently sent care packages to troops overseas.
