Juneteenth parade held in Bridgeport to commemorate freedom

People celebrated an annual holiday in Bridgeport that commemorates freedom and equality in America.



The Juneteenth African-American and Caribbean Parade took place Saturday afternoon.



Parade officials say Juneteenth commemorates the freeing of slaves after the Civil War and word of freedom reaching Texas.



News 12 is told food vendors, clothing and other crafts were part of the festivities.
