Political experts: New gun control laws have slim chance of approval

Political experts in southwestern Connecticut said today new gun control laws have a nearly zero percent chance of passing this year.
Not only is this an election year, but political watchers say it's a particularly tough one for members of both parties starting with Republicans, who are already nervous about running with Donald Trump at the top of their ticket.
Hillary Clinton made gun control a major issue when she campaigned in Connecticut last month.
At the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, they say that support remains high for expanded gun control, particularly expanded check background checks on gun purchases.
