State grants hearing about early release to woman who drowned baby
State officials have reportedly granted a Danbury woman a hearing to consider her early release after she drowned her baby in a toilet.
Panna Krom is serving 18 years in prison.
Prosecutors say Krom delivered the baby in a bathroom and hid the newborn's body in her closet in 2006.
Krom is now 26 and says her sentence is excessive.
The Hartford Courant says the state Board of Pardons and Paroles granted her hearing for July 26.
