Senate scheduled to vote on Republican gun control measure
After the Senate failed to pass four measures to strengthen gun laws on Monday, a new compromise is in the works.
Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins has crafted her own proposal to stop guns from falling into the hands of suspected terrorists.
Her plan calls those on two specific government watch lists to be denied weapons, but also calls for the government to pay the legal fees of anyone who is unfairly denied a firearm.
A vote is scheduled for later this week.
