Democrats end 25-hour sit-in on House floor
Democrats ended a 25-hour sit-in on the floor of the U.S. House Thursday afternoon.
Lawmakers from across the country, including Connecticut's delegation, started their protest Wednesday morning to demand votes on gun control.
CSPAN aired video taken from lawmakers' social media because House rules prevent their cameras from being on when the House is not in session.
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-3rd District) said this was not a publicity stunt, but rather an effort to fight for the lives lost to gun violence.
Democrats were calling for measures to expand background checks and ban suspected terrorists from buying guns.
