Southwestern Connecticut travelers were questioning Wednesday if it is safe to travel to Turkey after suicide bombers killed at least 41 people Tuesday.
Travel agents say many people were already avoiding Turkey because of the security situation before the bombings.
"They're asking if it's safe," says Nancy Yale, of Cruise World and Travel in Fairfield. "I can't say that. I mean, I don't know."
Flights are slowly resuming at Istanbul's main airport, one of the busiest airports in the world. Many carriers canceled flights Wednesday.
"Turkish Airlines itself has guaranteed that people would get full refunds," says Carol Warren, of Carol Warren Travel. "If they want to change their trip, they're not penalizing them."
Travel experts say most of Turkey's Mediterranean resorts are highly guarded and have not seen any instability, unlike Istanbul and the capital city of Ankara.
