Lightning strike causes fire in Bridgeport
Firefighters in Bridgeport say they put out a small attic fire caused by a lightning strike.
The fire broke out at 481 Putnam St. around 5 p.m.
Officials say the fire was contained to that area but that all residents of the six-family home were evacuated.
The owner of the home, Walter Speight, says he heard thunder and then lost all the power in his house.
Speight says he called 911 after seeing the fire.
This isn't the first time Speight's house has been hit by lightning. There was no major damage done to his home either time.
Power has since been restored.
