Police: Heroin seized in Bridgeport, 3 arrested
Bridgeport police arrested two accused drug dealers Friday and seized a large amount of heroin following a major undercover drug operation on the city's East Side.
Bridgeport Police Chief A.J. Perez told News 12 Connecticut that police conducted the raid around 3 p.m. Thursday, after undercover officers worked for weeks staking out a home at 551 Brooks St.
Police say Kasmir Davis, 27, and James Barnes, 26, are mid-level drug dealers selling high-quality heroin. They say the men were responsible for a large amount of drug trafficking in the community.
Officials say they seized more than $65,000 worth of heroin, along with several thousand dollars in cash.
They say when the men were arrested, both had large amounts of heroin hidden in their rectal cavities.
Davis' bond was set at $100,000 and Barnes' at $75,000. Both are due back in court next month.
Authorities also arrested Roberto Reyes, 42, who police say was a drug buyer.
