Blaze forces Stratford family from home
A Stratford family was forced out of their home after a fire Saturday.
Firefighters say the blaze at 165 Sanford Place started in the garage, destroying the family?s two cars. It then spread into the home.
One person who was in the house escaped the fire and no one was hurt.
Firefighters say that because of the weather, the blaze was difficult to battle.
?The factor today was the humidity and heat. The crews worked really hard in the beginning and then heat exhaustion took its toll,? says Capt. Dan Ross of the Stratford Fire Department.
?We had to rotate guys in and [give] them some refreshments and cool them off.?
Investigators are still trying to determine what sparked the blaze.
