Seniors in Wilton concerned after alleged assault
An alleged assault Thursday outside a senior living center in Wilton has residents and their families questioning security there.
Police officials would not confirm or deny what happened outside of the Sunrise Assisted Living Center on Danbury Road. They would only say it is an open case.
People outside the center say they were surprised to see police cars parked there Thursday afternoon.
A representative of the center told News 12 Connecticut that someone - who is not a resident of the center nor a worker there ? is alleged to have been assaulted, though the specifics of what took place are under investigation.
Though comforted to hear that their loved ones were safe, some relatives say they wonder if there's enough security around the facility to protect loved ones.
A Sunrise Assisted Living Center representative also says that though the incident allegedly took place outside their doors, it has nothing to do with them.
