Wilton teen laid to rest after bike accident
Hundreds of family members and friends gathered in a small church on Wednesday to say goodbye to a Wilton teenager who died last Friday in what police call a suspicious dirt bike accident.
The memorial service for 13-year-old Nick Parisot was held at the Unitarian Church of Westport on Lyons Plains Road.
Police say Parisot died when he hit an object that was purposely placed on the trail near his family's home on Nod Hill Road.
Detectives did not disclose what Parisot hit, but say it was something off the ground and not a tree limb.
The teenager?s family and friends remembered him as an easygoing boy who loved adventures and the outdoors. They say he was cheerful but unassuming.
Many of his fellow Boy Scouts and troop leaders say it's hard to comprehend the tragedy.
?The idea to celebrate his memory and his life is what is going to help me get through it, help the boys get through it,? says Allan Rau, of Wilton.
Wilton police are still investigating the accident. They are getting assistance from the state police and waiting for test results from the state forensic laboratory.
